I submitted this Idea a year ago but didnt see any traction or update on it, checked back today and the Idea Portal is gone so I am resubmitting the idea here When we do network discovery scans for new clients we get a number of entries where ports 80 or 443 are detected on a IP address but no other useful information comes across. This lets us know that something is there and that we need to load up the webpage to attempt to see exactly what it is but I think if Liongard can make the attempt to load the webpage and show us what it got that would help immensely. In the Network Discovery inspector on its default settings it will detect if ports 80 or 443 are open for an IP address. Since most webpages are run on either port 80 or port 443, I think it would be very useful for network discovery tasks if Liongard could attempt to load up the webpage and take a screenshot of it and show the screenshot in the network discovery. If we see the port is open we know that we will likely need to go to the device webpage in a browser to find out what it is, but it would be awesome of liongard did this for us to save a ton of time and help us identify what the device is. If the webpage does not exist or cant be loaded for whatever reason then the inspector can just report a webpage load error. For example the attached picture shows a device that was detected but no other information not even a name. But since port 80 and 443 are detected it may have a webpage and showing that in the Network Discovery report can help us document further information on it without even having to navigate to it. A simple screenshot of the webpage can help us see if it is a printer, DVR system, PLC device, NAS device, managed switch, etc.
